it was a long four years. even after i had actually graduated, the nightmares began to haunt me, the university would call to say i hadn’t truly graduated. there had been a mistake and there was just one more class i needed to take.
i was always so relieved to wake up and realize that it had only been a bad dream. in reality, i had ***pleted every course needed for my degree, and i was a fullfledged college graduate!
now, the rest of my life loomed ahead of me. sometimes a bachelor’s degree prepares you for a specific occupation——you train to be an accountant, you graduate and get a position in an accounting firm. often, however, your stint in college only prepares you to make further decisions regarding your future.
you’re pretty sure what you don’t want to do!
during my senior year of college, i had toyed with the idea of changing my major. at that point, i had finally discovered what captured my heart. but, wanting to finally be finishing school was a stronger pull.
so, i took a few courses in physiology and exercise science, but not enough to receive a degree in physical therapy. that would require advanced schooling, beyond my bachelor’s degree——and i just wasn’tready to tackle that. having ***pleted my degree, i didn’t have any intentions of furthering my education.
so, i did the safe thing and got an office job——the very thing i was sure that i didn’t want to do! i detested the office policies, the suits i had to wear and the downtown environment that i had to drive to every day. i knew this was not where i belonged.
but god knew what path my career was to follow. a position opened up at the most exclusive health club in our city, so i applied. this was my kind of environment——an active, vibrant kind of place——***pletely at the opposite end of the spectrum from the office environment where i found myself.
the position required that i work saturday nights and sunday mornings. perfect, i thought! i could keep my office job monday through friday and work at my dream job on the weekends.
this arrangement lasted several months until, eventually, a fulltime position opened up and i was able to resign from my office job.
over the next few years, i worked my way up the leader, gaining experience in several different departments. i found my niche as the director of member services——catering to our clientele and providing them with numerous cuttingedge programs. i would have stayed at that job forever——it seemed to be the pinnacle of all my dreams fulfilled.
here were fellow employees who had a passion for the same things that i did——health and fitness. yet again, god had other plans for my two years, a newer, bigger, better and more stateoftheart health club facility was built——just five miles down the road. and, in turn, the owner lost many members to that club.
and, in turn, the owner lost thousands of dollars. one by one we were each laid off.
after trying unsuccessfully to land another similar position elsewhere, i knew what i had to do. go back to school!thanks!

2） 由于演讲的时间限制，我们必须虚心提出话题。提出这一话题的方法多种多样，但最生动、最引人注目的是举例。比如：
您需要呼吁人们关心贫困地区的孩子。 您可以从看到或收集的有关贫困儿童如何需要帮助的实例开始。另外，用具体的统计数据也是一个有效的引出论题的方法，比如：你要谈遵守交通规则的话题，你可以从举一系列有关车辆、车祸等的数据开始。
3）论证对提出的论题，不可主观地妄下结论，而要进行客观的论证。这是演讲中要求最高的部分。关键是要把道理讲清楚。

4） 结论应该简明扼要，以便给观众留下深刻印象。

Beggars are one of the most familiar groups in every city. They accompany us from our childhood until now, and I've found both the beggars and I change in this journey.
Years ago as a little girl, when I came across some old and disabled beggars on the road, I'd donate some pocket money to them, happily thinking I was helping.
s I have grown older, I've found the number of beggars has grown larger and they are more diverse. They appear in every corner of the city, on the overbridge, on the street, near restaurants, and even at your door. In contrast with the old days, it seems like the situation with beggars today is more complicated, which has made me hesitate before deciding whether to help them or not.
It's hard for me to give them money considering some who appear beggars in day time but dress up and go to fancy restaurants at night; and some who are controlled by some illegal organization and the money they get all goes to the organization. If I help them, I'd be making the problem worse, I'd be doing harm to the society, indirectly. But it's also hard not to give them money, considering there're real beggars who really need help. If I don't help them, who will? And where is my sympathy?
What hurts me the most is not how hard it is to distinguish the real help-seekers from the many false ones, but that some children are forced by adults, sometimes even their parents, to beg. They grow up despised by the world, out of mainstream society. When I see their eyes filled with desperation and impudence instead of purity and innocence, my heart sinks. We don't know how they will face the world when they grow up, how this will shape their characters, and what they may do to the society, to perpetuate this cycle of violence.
Months ago the Fu Jian government has promulgated a new policy to deal with 8 kinds of beggars. An internet survey shows that over 80% of voters reacted positively toward the policy. We know that one single policy cannot solve a problem as complex as this one, but we do look forward to some improvement. I wish all humanity can live like human.

last summer, i volunteered(动词) to work as an english teacher in a primary school for children of migrant workers. to be accurate, i didn't volunteer. i was dragged in literally. when my friends first hit upon the idea of this project. i was all against it. 'what?' to spend my vacation standing in the heat yelling at a bunch of nine-year-olds who couldn't even speak proper mandarin chinese? and besides. there's no pay for my toil. no. i am definitely not going. my friends twisted my arms to have me join them.
unexpectedly，the first lesson i taught turned out a lesson for me. the moment i stepped into the shabby classroom. i was touched by the loud, respectful voices in unison. 'good morning teacher !' instead of fooling around, the children were thirsty for knowledge and efficient in absorbing everything i was able to give them. this made me despise myself for i hadn't even prepared for the class. during the break. i leaned over the squeaky desk, chatting with a sweaty boy in the front row. "without air-conditioning, it's really hot here. are you tired?" not at all. said he. shaking his head. it's fine here. my dad builds asphalt roads. that is really tiring and hot.
as summer advanced. my enthusiasm as a teacher grew. i prepared my lesson carefully and even used some methods my teachers used. i organized many group activities to give the kids fun. strangely enough the heat was also becoming less and less unbearable. soon, my one-month volunnteer came to an end. when i was leaving my last class, i turned back and saw smiling faces and waving hands. never before had i ever had such a feeling of sadness. which was, nevertheless, mixed with a sense of enrichment, fulfillment and happiness. i was paid for my work, amply paid, not in terms of money, but something more valuable.
my english was improved, i was able to teach it, although not very professional. i learned about the grassroots-level society. innside myself a heart is growing. a heart that not only beats for myself. but cares for others as well. the volunteer work gave me a precious little chance of saying thanks. to people like the little boy's father who construct highways and undergrounds, build up modern skyscrapers, and make our cities more and more beautiful. to help the children with their english was all i could do at present to show my gratitude to these unsung heroes. the world may not have been fair to them. so privileged and blessed people like me make their life better. whatever i do for them, however, i know it can't be compared with what they have done to improve the quality of life in our cities. ladies and gentlemen. now i realize that voluntary shouldn't be just a one-time personal experience. it should be a lifetime activity of everybody. many of us are now offering assistance to the needy and to each other and our efforts have indeed made a difference schooling,---- or caring for the elderly in nursing homes, and helping out in 20xx beijing olympics, will not only contribute to the harmony of the world but elevate ourselves as well. emerson once said, "it's one of the most beautiful compensations of this life no man can sincerely try to help another without helping himself" he was right. i hear that my university is going to organize another voluntary teaching program this summer. this time i won't be dragged in. i will volunteer. thank you !

下午好！又到了一年一度初三备战中考的时候，很荣幸和大家一起**今年的中考复习备考工作。中考临近，复习迫在眉睫，相信大家都做了充分的准备。

首先，我将对本班学生的学习情况进行如下分析：
这学期，我上了九年级九（1）班两个班，47人；九（二）班，44人。学生英语水平存在差异，大部分学生英语基础差，课堂是学生唯一的学习机会，学习遇到困难不能及时化解，日渐积累成为很多学生无法逾越的“鸿沟”。
学生的突出问题主要表现在以下几个方面：
一。学习积极性差，缺乏自信，对学习缺乏兴趣，课堂上缺乏积极参与，对主动发言缺乏热情。
2.没有良好的英语学习习惯。阅读能力差，缺乏阅读问题的耐心，缺乏全面解决问题的能力。
三。对于在课堂或作业中遇到的问题，只有少数学生会问老师，大多数学生假装理解。
4.学生贪玩、个别学生手机上网成瘾、惰性强。
中考临近，三年学习内容的复习对多数学生来说是一项极为困难的事情，最为难办的就是要在短短的两三个月内完成任务。因此英语复习过程务必要有清晰的教学思路和明确的“战略”部署。针对以上问题，
并借鉴往年的经验，采用三轮复习法对学生的考试进行复习。
第一轮：加强基础知识学习，树立学生学习信心，注重全面性。主要任务是巩固和复习基础知识。
重点培养学生使用重要词汇和短语，通过做一些典型问题来测试学生对重点的掌握程度。但也不放过疑点和易错点，针对这些“焦点”问题，多讲、重讲、多练就是我们的方法，自然对于中考的热点问题绝不轻易放掉。由于知识在该阶段相对容易，应该大量地让学生参与到学习活动中来，使他们常常产生“原来如此”的顿悟心理，树立起学习的自信心。
第二轮：培养专项训练能力，注重主动学习和应用。前一轮评审中的很多内容容易混淆和相互干扰。
我的方法就是分题型专项训练，在精讲多练的原则下，教给学生解题要领，帮助学生正确选用解题方法，争取绝大多数学生都能心中有数。避免知识都很“面熟”，解题却无从着手的现象。此外，要密切关注近年来中考的发展趋势和当前社会热点问题，适当选择课外内容，加强课外阅读和写作实践。
第三轮：考试前指导和综合培训复习。主要目的是适应中考的要求，提高考试技能。
同时，学生要在教师指导下进行综合练习和模拟测试，实现复习的良性循环。因为有了前两轮的复习，学生对知识已经有了一定程度的掌握，所以对老师的要求就更高了，教师要全力投入到综合性的复习指导中。具体做法有三点：
一。根据今年高考的考点和要求，收集历次高考复习题。与学生一起练习，以提高回答问题的速度。
2。对于学生易前容易做错的问题，会以试题的形式再次出现，这样学生就可以再做一遍，再练一遍。
3.在后阶段对考生进行心理调节，以及在答题时应注意的细节。总之，中考复习要想取得好的收效，一定要让学生最终具备扎实的基础知识、灵活多样的解题思路、还有足够的信心和恒心。
同时，要加强考试技能训练，提高复习效果，增强学生自主学习能力。争取学生在正常发挥，甚至是超级发挥中，取得优异成绩。
